[ 01 ] The problem

Before you can form an opinion, you have to establish what the records show.

A large bundle may contain hundreds or thousands of unordered pages, with duplicated records and scanned notes. Finding the relevant history by hand can take three to six hours.

[ 02 ] What you give it

Three things. Nothing else.

One

The bundle

Add one to four PDFs, each containing roughly 100 to 1,000 pages. The files can be in any order. Before processing begins, MLEE shows the page count and estimated time for each file.

Two

The date of the incident

Enter a single date. MLEE uses it to separate entries into pre-incident and post-incident groups. Entries dated on the day of the incident are included in the post-incident group.

Three

The injury location

Select one or more body regions, such as the shoulder, lumbar spine or left knee. Choose left or right where clinically relevant.

That is the whole of the setup. From there, MLEE processes the bundle and presents the entries for review.

[ 03 ] What MLEE will not do

MLEE’s role is limited to finding and organising the records.

  1. No opinion on the claim.

    MLEE does not assess causation, grade severity or flag inconsistencies. You make those judgments as part of your review.

  2. No generated summaries.

    MLEE does not produce overview paragraphs or draft conclusions. Extracted text is shown with a link to its source page so you can check it against the original.

  3. No chat or case questions.

    You provide the incident date and injury location through a form. MLEE identifies entries for review but does not answer questions about the case.

  4. No interpretation of medical images.

    MLEE does not analyse radiographs, MRI scans or other diagnostic images and reads the written radiology report instead.

  5. Not for clinical use.

    MLEE is designed to support the preparation of medico-legal reports and is not a diagnostic, triage or treatment tool.

MLEE supports your review of the records. You remain responsible for the report and the professional opinion.

[ 04 ] Principles

The same safeguards apply to every review.

  1. One

    Review decisions can be changed

    You can undo a discard or restore an entry while working on a review. If MLEE groups duplicate entries incorrectly, you can split them.

  2. Two

    Borderline entries remain visible

    When the connection to the injury is uncertain, MLEE includes the entry for you to assess instead of excluding it.

  3. Three

    Relevance affects order, not access

    Entries most closely related to the injury appear first. All other extracted entries remain available for review.

  4. Four

    Unread and undated material is identified

    MLEE lists pages it could not read and entries it could not date, together with their page references. You review and acknowledge the list before exporting, and its totals appear at the top of the export.

  5. Five

    Dates, pages and duplicates are shown clearly

    Each entry shows the date used, its source page and any duplicate locations, so you can check those details against the records.

  6. Six

    You control what is used

    An entry is copied or included in an export only after you select it. You decide which source material to use in your report.

[ 05 ] Privacy

The records never leave your computer.

All record processing takes place on your computer, including text extraction from scanned pages. The bundle and its contents are not uploaded to a server.

  1. Encryption

    MLEE encrypts source bundles, extracted text and completed reviews stored on your computer. Encryption is always enabled.

  2. Retention

    MLEE retains the source bundles for your three most recent case reviews so their source links remain available. When a fourth review begins, the oldest source bundle is securely deleted. Completed reviews remain available until you delete them.

  3. Data responsibility

    You remain the data controller for the records you handle. MLEE processes the records only on your computer. A plain-language data-flow statement and DPIA template are included.

  4. Offline use

    MLEE continues to work offline for up to seven days after a successful licence check. The interface shows how many offline days remain before another check is required.

What to know before using MLEE.

Is any record content uploaded to a server?
No. Bundle processing takes place on your computer. MLEE sends only your account identifier, licence status, application version and device identifier for licence checks. Diagnostic and crash reports are sent only if you opt in and contain no content derived from the records.
Can MLEE write the report for me?
No. MLEE does not generate summaries, conclusions or other report prose. It presents extracted text linked to its source pages, and you decide what to use in your report.
What happens when MLEE cannot read handwriting?
MLEE adds the page to the unread register and records the reason. You review and acknowledge this register before exporting, and the total appears at the top of the export.
What if MLEE misses something?
MLEE cannot guarantee that every relevant entry will be found. Borderline matches remain visible, and the unread register identifies pages that could not be processed. You remain responsible for the final review.
Does MLEE work without an internet connection?
Yes. After a successful licence check, MLEE can work offline for up to seven days. The interface shows how many days remain and does not interrupt processing already underway.
Which injury locations does MLEE support?
The injury picker shows every supported body region and includes left and right options where clinically relevant. If a region is not supported, MLEE tells you before processing begins.
